The Systems Analyst is responsible for providing and supporting computer information systems, including support for applications through process analysis, configuration consultation, problem resolution, and reporting. The Systems Analyst analyzes, designs, supports, and documents computer information systems, serves as project leader by actively participating in the development of systems, managing programming, testing, quality control, and implementation, and provides ongoing support to users through training, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Key Result Areas (KRA)

  1. Ability to perform more complex systems designs; develop, maintain, and interface complex applications using a variety of languages and platforms.
  2. Executes test plan during development and system testing and provides user acceptance testing or other testing as required to ensure that system processing reflects user requirements / designs.
  3. Create technical documentation for the programming team of all applications as a resource for future development and troubleshooting.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements applications and other related applications
  • Perform a full range of complex programming tasks using a variety of web and application based programming technologies and languages, keeping current with new programming techniques.
  • Performs implementation activities such as program promotions, installation of the system, training and tutorial of end-users
  • Identifies all possible test scenarios and prepares tests for the systems under development
  • Effectively resolves programming problems by conducting thorough analyses of problems and employing appropriate debugging techniques and aids to resolve the problems

  • Provides updates and status reports to the project manager during the course of a development and related support activities
  • Performs development/update of the User’s Manual, Systems Manual and Operations Manual
  • Determines, analyzes, and transforms business requirements to produce design specifications at the system and programming levels

Technical and Job-specific Requirements

  • College/University Degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business
  • 3-5 years as experience as IT developer;  2 years + as Analyst-Programmer

  • Knowledge in Systems Development Life Cycles, its stages, major tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to begin to lead small teams of developers
